BAC (Bacteriostatic Water)

Bacteriostatic water is sterile water for injection containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a bacteriostatic preservative, allowing multiple withdrawals from the same vial without repackaging. It's used in research settings as a reconstitution diluent for lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptides prior to laboratory use.

Unlike the compounds above, BAC water isn't itself a research subject — it's a supporting reagent, and researchers should confirm compatibility with the specific peptide being reconstituted before use.
